The Miracle of Yoga

Yeah yoga really has proven itself in helping people reduce stress. Less stress = a healthier heart. That becomes super important for those with heart disease in the family (like mine). Heart attacks are still a huge killer, if you think you might be prone to them, adding some yoga to your life might not be a terrible idea.

The miracle of yoga, you say out loud,  how could it be a miracle? Well, first of all yoga is a form of mediation which has been proven to help increase blood flow and to clear the brain and at times help get rid of some diseases.  Yoga stretches your body which also helps to increase blood flow in your body, which allows your brain to have more oxygen, along with a surplus of other benefits.  Spending at least twenty minutes every day stretching, meditating or doing yoga will in the end help you become more flexible and relaxed.

Personally, I use yoga techniques when I am having a panic attack.  Learning how to control your breathing and how to turn off the thoughts in your head is a major win.

Yoga classes are everywhere! Just look at your closest gym or YMCA, and I guarantee there will be at…

Healthy Body 2015

Getting the whole family involved is a fantastic idea. Seriously, it helps build a support system and creates accountability for everyone.

Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, Healthy Life

I wanted to start this blog to help people. Over the past half a year I have been helping myself and my family get healthy by meal planning. I asked on my local facebook mom group for suggestions on where to go for recipes for healthy choices. Some were ok, but one has stuck with me over the past 6 months and I have pretty much been cooking from her site just about every night, with the exception of some Sundays, holidays and days when we have leftovers.

Gina Homolka is the creator of and the author of The Skinnytaste Cookbook, which you can find in stores EVERYWHERE! I absolutely LOVE every single recipe I have tried and so does my family. Not only are they SKINNY, she also includes the Weight Watchers Points on each recipe as well as the calorie count and servings. She aims for clean…

The food, the nutrients and the values

Some really good food for thought (pun intended).

Ser and Stuff

Everyone knows that the key to a healthy life is having a healthy diet. In today’s society media shows you one food advertisement after the other. One product claiming to be even tastier or healthier than the other. When you go into the supermarket products are labeled with seals claiming that said product is a healthy choice. Packaging advertises things such as “0% fat” or “no added sugar”. These things can be decent guidelines, but in my experience you shouldn’t take them to heart. Don’t forget these are still companies trying to make a profit. I’ve found that teaching yourself to read the nutrient value’s on the packaging together with the basic knowledge of what kind of effect nutrients have on your body, will make resisting poor food choices and picking healthier food a lot easier.

Based on the knowledge I gathered during my research on nutrients I decided for…

‘The Mindy Project’ Is Officially Moving To Hulu For Season 4

After Fox canceled The Mindy Project last week, news came out that Universal Television was in talks with Hulu to revive the series with the possibility of multiple seasons. And it’s now official: Hulu has picked up The Mindy Project for Season 4, and it’ll have the option to order subsequent seasons following the premiere, reports Variety.

“Mindy has been a beloved member of the Hulu family, so this deal is a natural extension of our relationship,” said Craig Erwich, Hulu’s SVP and head of content. “With so many of her fans already catching up and tuning in to the series on Hulu, we know her millions of fans will be eager to find out what Mindy has in store for the next chapter.”

For a series that’s already seen so many cast turnovers in just three short seasons, it remains to be seen whether or not all of…
